The issue impacted node operators, including RPC providers using Reth such as Merkle and Defillama. The bug was confirmed to be affecting Reth versions 1.6.0 and 1.4.8. Paradigm shared safe recovery steps for both pruned and archive nodes, which take ~45 minutes to rebuild the trie before resuming sync. The Reth team is actively investigating the issue and has not yet released a patch. Application and tooling developers should migrate to Sepolia for smart contract and dapp testing.
