Ethereum Surpasses One Million Developers
-----------------------------------------

Ethereum has crossed one million lifetime developers, with 1,012,824 distinct people having contributed to the ecosystem, according to data from Electric Capital. Roughly 232,000 of those developers were active in the past twelve months. Joseph Chalom, CEO of SharpLink and former Head of Digital Assets Strategy at BlackRock, framed the milestone as evidence of Ethereum's durable advantage, arguing the decisive question in crypto is not which chain is fastest but where the best builders choose to build for the long term.

Chalom tied the figure to a recent tour of Asian developer hubs and pointed to active work on core protocol scalability, privacy, quantum resistance, and [agentic systems](https://ethdaily.io/ai-agents-tracker) as the reason the developer base continues to deepen Ethereum's moat. The milestone arrives as competing data points to a narrowing lead: Ethereum sits at 31% of active crypto developers in 2026, down from 82% in 2020, though established developers now write roughly 70% of code commits.

Standard Chartered Initiates Uniswap Coverage
---------------------------------------------

Standard Chartered initiated coverage of Uniswap (UNI) in a Global Research note led by Geoff Kendrick, forecasting UNI rises 40x to $100 by end-2030 from around $2.50 today, a trajectory the bank expects to outperform both ETH and BTC. The bullish call rests on tokenization: Standard Chartered projects [tokenized assets](https://ethdaily.io/uniswap-lists-tokenized-securities) on-chain grow to $4 trillion by end-2028 from $340bn today, with the DeFi share rising to 30% by 2030.

The note frames Uniswap as DeFi trading infrastructure for TradFi integration rather than a retail exchange app. UNI's fee mechanics underpin the valuation, with the December 2025 UNIfication upgrade switching on protocol fees and routing them into programmatic UNI burns. The bank flags execution risk, noting that capturing RWA volume requires significant commercialization and unproven TradFi partnerships.

Arbitrum Outlines 2026 Finance-Native Priorities
------------------------------------------------

Arbitrum published a roadmap detailing the product priorities driving its shift from a scaling solution to a finance-native platform for the programmable economy. The first priority is Dynamic Pricing, a gas model that charges users only for the resources their transactions consume, already live on Arbitrum One. Arbitrum says the approach also lifts sustainable throughput, citing a 910 MGas/s mainnet peak reached on January 31, 2026.

Other priorities in development include native regulatory compliance tooling, a privacy architecture supporting selective disclosure, and ZK proving built on Succinct's SP1 to cut settlement from days to minutes. The roadmap also introduces Arbitrum Universal Intents for cross-network transfers, a Yield-Bearing Bridge, Priority Gas Auctions offering 125ms pre-confirmation cycles, and Real-Time Sequencer Feeds.
