Pollak is stepping back from the Base App and returning his focus to the chain itself. The Base App has been handed back to Coinbase, where Cobie will take over development. Base Chain will now focus on assets, including trading, stablecoins, payments, tokenization, and agents. Base recently shipped the B20 native token standard for real world assets. SummerFi Is Shutting Down ------------------------- SummerFi, the MakerDAO frontend formerly known as Oasis, is [**winding down**](https://blog.summer.fi/sunsetting-summer-fi-and-the-labs-company/) after a July 6th exploit on its Lazy Summer Protocol left the team with no viable path forward. The exploit hit a single transaction that drained the affected vaults, wiping out a meaningful portion of the team's own capital held in those vaults and eliminating the runway needed to rebuild. SummerFi was originally spun out of the Maker Foundation in June 2021 and spent five years building vault management infrastructure for MakerDAO positions, adding Multiply, Yield loops, and Vault Automation features along the way. The SummerFi app will remain live until August 31. Uniswap Releases Trading Tools ------------------------------ Uniswap [**expanded**](https://x.com/UniswapBuilders/status/2077384759328547286) its Uniswap AI toolkit with Uniswap Trading Tools, a new plugin featuring three new agent coding skills for building automated onchain trading strategies. The dca-bot skill enables dollar-cost-average purchases, the index-bot builds and rebalances a weighted token basket, and the copy-trade skill mirrors other wallet's swaps. All three skills are asset-agnostic, supporting both crypto-native tokens and tokenized real-world assets. DTCC Pilots Tokenized Securities -------------------------------- The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation [**successfully**](https://www.dtcc.com/news/2026/july/15/dtcc-turns-tokenization-into-reality) processed live production trades using tokenized DTC-custodied assets on HyperLedger Besu, DTCC's private blockchain. More than 30 firms, spanning traditional financial institutions and digital market participants, took part. The milestone sets the stage for the DTCC Tokenization Service, scheduled to launch on multiple chains in October 2026. The service will allow DTC Participants to convert securities between traditional and tokenized forms, access new liquidity pools and execute digital asset strategies.
