AMC CEO Crashes Out Over Stock Tokens

AMC Entertainment CEO Adam Aron entered into a public dispute with Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev over Robinhood's launch of Stock Tokens, demanding Robinhood to cease trading AMC-linked tokens. Robinhood issues the tokenized assets through an offshore entity based in Jersey, Robinhood Assets Limited, which restricts offerings to U.S. persons. Aron threatened legal action and argued that issuing offshore synthetic stock tokens strips shareholders of voting rights and circumvents U.S. investor protections.

Robinhood Chief Legal Officer Dan Gallagher, a former SEC commissioner, dismissed Aron's demands, stating the company operates strictly within cross-border securities regulations and will not halt trading. The confrontation comes as community members have deployed speculative memecoins paired with AMC stock on Robinhood Chain, including "A Meme Coin," pushing up short-term trading volume for AMC stock.

Robinhood Chain Batch Posting Delay

Robinhood Chain experienced a batch posting delay, stalling transaction batch submissions to Ethereum L1 for a total of about 14 minutes. Arbitrum said the cause was Ethereum L1 blob-market behavior. Local sequencer block production remained fully operational throughout the incident, continuing at its standard 100 millisecond block time without impacting direct user execution. The incident appeared like a block production halt since block explorers froze while batch submissions were stalled. The chain returned to normal conditions following the delay.

ZKsync Deprecates EraVM

ZKsync announced that it is deprecating its legacy EraVM execution environment across Boojum-based ZK chains over the next six months as it transitions toward ZKsync Atlas architecture. The deprecation push follows a new urgency for security hardening prompted by AI-assisted vulnerability discovery, which has drastically lowered the effort required to identify protocol flaws. Public EraVM chains are being urged to implement immediate mitigations, including extending execution delays from 3 hours to 24 hours.

The transition impacts protocols, chain operators, and end users holding funds on smart contracts. Funds held across multisigs, smart accounts, and DeFi positions will require coordinated contract migrations or upgrades as individual chains publish their transition timelines. Chain operators and developers will need to update contract deployments and prevent locked or stranded assets ahead of EraVM's full deprecation.
