It allows an agent requesting a paid API or data product can receive a payment requirement and respond programmatically as part of the same interaction. Separately, Offchain has published arbitrum-mpp, an open-source TypeScript SDK implementing the Machine Payment Protocol on Arbitrum. The package ships both client and server logic: the client produces a signed payment authorization in response to a server challenge, the server validates it, submits the transaction, and confirms settlement. Payments settle in USDC via signed transfer authorization, with no requirement for the payer to hold the gas token. Any token compatible with Uniswap's Permit2 is also supported.
