# Base Delays Beryl Mainnet Upgrade > Beryl is rescheduled for Friday at 6 PM UTC to ensure the B20 Activation Registry is fully operational. **Published by:** [ETH Daily](https://ethdaily.io/) **Published on:** 2026-06-25 **Categories:** base, scaling, infrastructure **URL:** https://ethdaily.io/base-delays-beryl-mainnet-upgrade ## Content Base delayed its second major network upgrade, Beryl, on mainnet, pushing the anticipated activation date to June 26, 2026, at 18:00 UTC. The hardfork was originally scheduled to go live today, June 25, but was postponed because of necessary timing alignments for enabling the upgrade's underlying Activation Registry. Developers cannot deploy the flagship B20 native token standard onchain until this Activation Registry is fully operational, a step that can take up to one hour after Beryl's activation. Once Beryl activates, the upgrade will cut canonical single-proof withdrawal times from seven days to five days and integrate Reth V2 to reduce node storage overhead by up to 50%.
