Linea Stack Becomes Lineth Under Linux Foundation
ConsenSys hands the Linea Stack to the Linux Foundation Decentralized Trust under a new name, Lineth, with Apache-2.0/MIT licensing.
ConsenSys open-sourced the Linea Stack under Apache-2.0/MIT licensing and its control to the Linux Foundation Decentralized Trust under a new name, Lineth. Lineth covers the full L2 pipeline, EVM-equivalent execution built on Besu, the Maru consensus client, a ZK proving stack using gnark, and onchain Ethereum contracts for proof verification and bridging.
Anyone can now use Lineth to deploy a production-grade ZK rollup. Linea Mainnet remains under Consensys control and is targeting Stage 1 decentralization this month, a RISC-V prover transition in Q3, and real-time proving by the end of the year. Linea holds over $450 million in value secured.

Status Network has announced plans to consolidate its technical work, liquidity, and community into Linea rather than launching as a standalone L2. The merge will bring Status Network's core innovations, including ephemeral accounts, free cover traffic, untraceable agents, and decoupled execution, to the broader Linea ecosystem.
The move also allows Status to refocus on its flagship product, the Status App, originally launched in June 2017. Pre-deposit vaults for the Status L2 are now closed and will be migrated to Linea mainnet, where users will be able to withdraw their principal, accrued yield, and liquid rewards. A reward pool has also been approved for pre-depositors. No action is required before the claim.
Status Network's privacy-first design aligns with Vitalik's Ethereum privacy roadmap, which prioritizes private transactions as a default user experience.

Consensys And Joseph Lubin Commit 30,000 ETH To DeFi United
Consensys and Joseph Lubin pledge up to 30,000 ETH, and SharpLink joins as a strategic advisor, to DeFi United.
Consensys and Joseph Lubin have committed up to 30,000 ETH in financial support toward the DeFi United rsETH recovery effort. SharpLink is also participating in a strategic advisory capacity. The contribution is particularly significant given that the 30,765.67 ETH frozen by the Arbitrum Security Council will not be liquid for approximately 49 days pending governance approval.
The rsETH backing shortfall is now effectively covered by a combination of previously announced and newly confirmed commitments. These include contributions from Aave DAO, Lido, EtherFi, Ethena, Mantle, and Compound Finance, which committed 3,000 ETH. The Babylon Foundation is also depositing 3 million USDT into Aave, and Tron is depositing 20 million USDT into Aave to assist with liquidity. The stablecoin deposits have helped ease utilization rates slightly, allowing USDT lenders to begin withdrawing.
