Chainlink CCIP 2.0 Integrates Fast Confirmation Rule
Chainlink CCIP 2.0 integrates Ethereum's Fast Confirmation Rule, enabling sub-24-second confirmations and configurable settlement parameters.

Chainlink has integrated Ethereum’s Fast Confirmation Rule (FCR) into CCIP 2.0 to reduce settlement times for cross-chain transactions from roughly 13 minutes to 12–24 seconds. The upgrade creates a high-speed execution path for payment flows that previously faced significant latency, providing a more efficient foundation for the interop and intents ecosystem. By allowing issuers to configure execution parameters, protocols can prioritize faster settlement for high-frequency, lower-value transfers while maintaining full source-chain finality for high-value wholesale settlements.
Faster confirmation times minimize the period during which capital is locked, allowing bridges to replenish capacity and liquidity providers to recycle inventory with greater velocity. The model enables higher capital efficiency for onchain market venues without requiring additional security assumptions or trust dependencies, offering a configurable settlement layer that balances speed with security.
