Chainlink Launches CCIP 2.0 Standard
The new interoperability standard introduces user-operated verification layers, built-in compliance controls, and configurable finality speeds.
Chainlink officially launched CCIP 2.0, positioning the protocol as the first credibly neutral, institutional-grade standard for cross-chain interoperability. The upgrade introduces User Attestations via Cross-Chain Verifiers (CCVs), allowing issuers to layer independent verification on top of existing infrastructure using Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, or enterprise-grade operators like Infosys and Nethermind. Built-in compliance functionality now supports automated governance policies and KYC/AML controls, while configurable finality speeds allow institutions to tune settlement parameters from near-instant transfers to full source-chain finality depending on transaction value and risk profile.
CCIP now secures over $84 billion in total cross-chain token value, with $15 billion in asset volume migrating to the platform in the last four months alone, including BitGo's WBTC, Coinbase's cbBTC, and Kraken's kBTC. This release targets the security, compliance, and speed requirements needed to scale regulated onchain finance across public and private blockchains.
