Cloaked Browser Extension Wallet

Cloaked, a stealth address wallet, released its browser extension wallet. Users can now use the Cloaked extension to connect to dapps with fresh, app-specific addresses. The wallet, which already operated as a browser-based wallet, allows users to generate a new address for every deposit into their wallet. The Cloaked browser extension allows users to connect to apps using an address with a private balance.

Cloaked supports the Privacy Pools protocol for shielded asset transfers. The extension helps users with address management between previously used addresses and fresh addresses with private balances, all from the same wallet. Users can create an account with a passkey or connect an existing wallet, while retaining control of their keys. The extension supports Clear Signing through Sourcify, which explains supported transactions in plain language before approval and marks requests it cannot verify.

XMTP Labs Shutting Down Network

XMTP Labs announced plans to shut down its hosted messaging network in early 2027. The project is transitioning its end-to-end encrypted messaging protocol toward an open-source, self-hosted infrastructure. The new XMTP stack allows developers to run and configure their own messaging backends. It's designed for people and for agents with support for private messages and groups, cryptographic identities, and quantum-resistant end-to-end encryption, with no token or wallet required.

Separate self-hosted networks are not automatically connected. Users must be connected on the same backend to communicate. Founder Shane Mac said XMTP’s original plan relied on a shared network and a token to help sustain its infrastructure. The company says demand for that shared-network model did not develop as expected, and it will not launch a token. Guides are available for apps with existing XMTP integrations to migrate to self-hosted infrastructure.

ZKsync Introduces Prividium Commander

ZKsync introduced Prividium Commander, an operating layer for institutions building digital-asset services, such as tokenized deposits, payments, treasury, and intraday repo. It connects existing identity systems and internal applications through APIs, while giving authorized teams dashboard controls for policy-based permissions, token operations, transaction logs and usage insights. The product is designed to reduce the software and integration work required to move a financial service onchain.

Commander supports both public chains and existing private networks. Institutions can retain their existing applications and systems, then choose to move to Prividium Ledger, ZKsync's private ZK chain, while keeping Commander and its integrations. ZKsync says the product is available to institutions building digital-asset businesses.

Aave Proposes Security Hardening

Aave Labs proposed upgrading active Aave V3 instances to V3.8, a measured security release that adds a reentrancy guard to pool operations during external callbacks. The guard uses transient storage to protect pool accounting when a transaction interacts with the pool more than once. The rollout would cover active instances across 15 chains. The proposal is now open for community feedback.
