# Devcon 8 Community Hub Applications Open

The Ethereum Foundation opened applications for Devcon 8 Community Hubs, physical spaces within the Mumbai venue where community groups host their own programming. The RFP opened June 10 and closes August 12, with selected hubs announced August 26. This year's request centers on Ethereum's core properties — censorship resistance, open source, privacy, and security, collectively called CROPS — and explicitly welcomes a new Security Hub alongside returning Node Operators, Open Source, and Privacy hubs. Community Hubs are independently organized, education-only spaces that must stay free of marketing, branding, and token promotion. New for Devcon 8, every selected hub will also be invited to host a dedicated stage session to bring its programming to a wider audience. Selected hubs receive a roughly 48-square-meter space accommodating around 30 people, equipment, a limited number of Devcon tickets for organizers, and inclusion in official Devcon communications. The format builds on three prior editions in Bogotá, Bangkok, and Buenos Aires, which grew from 6 pioneer hubs to 15.
