# DTCC Pilots Tokenized Securities

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation [successfully](https://www.dtcc.com/news/2026/july/15/dtcc-turns-tokenization-into-reality) processed live production trades using tokenized DTC-custodied assets on HyperLedger Besu, DTCC's private blockchain. More than 30 firms, spanning traditional financial institutions and digital market participants, took part.

The milestone sets the stage for the DTCC Tokenization Service, scheduled to launch on multiple chains in October 2026. The service will allow DTC Participants to convert securities between traditional and tokenized forms, access new liquidity pools and execute digital asset strategies.

Initial supported assets will include the Russell 1000, major index ETFs, and US Treasury securities. DTCC received a No-Action Letter from the SEC in December 2025 authorizing DTC Participants to tokenize select DTC-custodied assets. The DTCC processes the majority of US securities clearing and settlement.
