# Ethereum Celebrates 11th Birthday

Today marks Ethereum’s 11th birthday. On July 30, 2015, the Ethereum genesis block was mined into existence at 15:26:13 UTC during the Frontier launch, rewarding minders with 5 ETH per block. Frontier was Ethereum’s first mainnet release, introduced the world’s first smart contract blockchain and set the foundation for the World Computer. Today, Ethereum secures over $150 billion in stablecoins, over $45 billion locked in DeFi, and more than $14 billion in tokenized real-world assets. Over the past 11 years, Ethereum has delivered 100% uptime, processed 25.6 million blocks, and 3.6 billion transactions across 425 million unique addresses. In celebration of Ethereum's 11th Birthday, Ethelabs launched a collective convas on Networked Art. Users can make a 11x11 pixel art using a palette of 11 colors and mint the resulting image as an NFT. Submissions are open for 24hrs. All pixel art submissions will then become a part a collective picture where each user's artwork will be placed next to their peers.
