Ethereum Economic Zone (EEZ) Introduces Rollup X

Rollup X demonstrates synchronous composability, letting Ethereum and rollup contracts use cross-network results in one atomic transaction.

It's Wednesday, November 4, 2026.

The Ethereum Economic Zone (EEZ) introduces Rollup X on devnet. Aztec Network activates its Tierra upgrade. L2BEAT becomes ETHBEAT. And ZisK proves OP Mainnet block in real time.

EEZ Introduces Rollup X

The Ethereum Economic Zone (EEZ) introduced Rollup X at Devcon 8, unveiling its Devnet testnet and demonstrating three breakthroughs in synchronous composability between Ethereum mainnet and rollups. The demonstration showed completed trades using L1 liquidity via CoW Swap, wallet ownership updates across networks via Safe, and a Falcon signature verified on Rollup X authorized a mainnet transaction.

The framework lets contracts on Ethereum and rollups call contracts on other participating networks and use their results within the same atomic transaction, without a bridge message or callback. Rollup X remains a testnet and is undergoing an independent security audit. The demonstrations follow plans for Gnosis Chain to migrate to an EEZ rollup in 2027. The proposed Gnosis upgrade is expected to preserve contracts, balances, addresses, chain ID, and xDAI as the gas token. Gnosis says the transition prioritizes faster block production and synchronous composability.

Aztec Tierra Upgrade Brings Faster Proofs

Aztec launched Tierra, its Alpha V6 network upgrade that doubles private transaction proof speed to about one second on native devices. The release also adds formal verification of core cryptographic components and an AI-powered security testing harness. Ethereum-to-Aztec message delivery, which previously averaged about two minutes, can now take as little as 12 seconds. The change follows Aztec’s Alpha V5 upgrade, which also focused on faster proving and security fixes.

The upgrade comes among the recent release of zk.money for private payments and savings, Galactica for private AI inference, and Nemi for private perpetuals trading. Aztec says users can deposit into zk.money directly from any Ethereum wallet. The Aztec L2 combines private and public smart contract execution, with private functions executed and proved on users’ devices.

L2BEAT Becomes ETHBEAT

L2BEAT rebranded as ETHBEAT, reflecting its research mandate that now extends beyond Layer 2 networks. It will continue to monitor L2s, while expanding to privacy, interoperability, tokens, zero-knowledge systems, native rollups, and changes to Ethereum’s base layer. The shift follows changes in scaling Ethereum’s L1, while projects built on Ethereum increasingly offer specialized products beyond scaling. ETHBEAT says it will assess what users must trust, whether systems uphold Ethereum’s guarantees, and whether users can exit if others stop cooperating.

ZisK Proves OP Mainnet Blocks

ZisK launched its prover on Optimism mainnet, generating a final proof in an average of 11 seconds from the time a transaction batch is included on Ethereum, supporting real-time proving. The release runs on four NVIDIA RTX 5090 GPUs. Each Optimism block is proven in an average of 720 milliseconds, then folded into a running aggregate in another 180 milliseconds. That 900-millisecond sequence finishes within Optimism’s 2-second block time. The ZisK project says it plans to open-source the repository in the coming weeks. The release is still undergoing security and correctness audits.
