Ethlabs Raises Additional Funds

Ethlabs added Ethereum co-founder Mihai Alisie as an anchor funder, with Payward and Gattaca HQ joining as contributors, alongside 19 more supporters from the Ethereum ecosystem. Ethlabs is an independent nonprofit research and development lab that launched in June with five former Ethereum Foundation researchers. Its current focus includes faster finality, scaling, and native asset issuance while preserving Ethereum’s neutrality and security.

Alisie said the organization’s nonprofit spirit echoes the one chosen for Ethereum's launch in 2014, describing the network as a distributed effort involving nodes, ideas, people, and organizations. Ethlabs supporters receive transparency reports and audits but do not direct the research agenda.

DTCC Launches Tokenization Service

The Depository Trust Company, a DTCC subsidiary, launched its Tokenization Service to create digital representations of securities held in DTC custody. The tokens can move between traditional and tokenized forms and be delivered to digital wallets while retaining the ownership rights, investor protections, and economic entitlements of their traditional counterparts. Twenty DTC participants, including Bank of America, Citi, J.P. Morgan, and Fidelity Investments, have signed agreements to access the service.

The service currently connects to DTCC’s private Besu network, with additional networks planned for 2027. The SEC issued DTC a no-action letter in December 2025 covering tokenization of Russell 1000 constituents, major-index ETFs, and U.S. Treasuries. DTCC says the service is intended to support institutional use of tokenized securities, including improved liquidity, collateral mobility, and capital efficiency. DTC holds more than $114 trillion in assets.

Arbitrum Stablecoin Growth Program

Arbitrum launched its Stablecoin Growth Program for stablecoin-centric protocols with at least $1 million in stablecoin balances. Apps with a live product and audited contracts that can commit to building on Arbitrum and use USDG as their primary stablecoin, with at least $1 million of TVL moving into USDG, can apply for incentives. Eligible teams may receive performance-based incentives as their USDG activity grows.

The first 10 participating teams to reach $10 million in USDG TVL, measured as a 30-day average, will each receive 200,000 ARB from a 2 million ARB pool. Applications are open to lending, yield, AMM and payments protocols; participation is subject to eligibility, Foundation approval and program terms. Arbitrum receives a revenue share as a Global Dollar Network (GDN) partner.
