EthStaker noted a decline in survey participation from previous years, down from 740 in 2025 and 1,023 in 2024. Roughly 78 percent of respondents reported staking the majority of their ETH. Most have run validators for years, and their client choices still lean toward minority client software, resulting in healthy execution client diversity. Consensus layer diversity is tightening, with Lighthouse growing its plurality share to 38 percent as Nimbus rose to 21 percent and Prysm dipped to 19 percent. Concern about stake centralization risks has also gone down. The survey also highlights an increase in economic awareness, with 39 percent of stakers now factoring ETH supply inflation into their staking decisions, up from 21 percent in 2024. On newer proposals, 91 percent of respondents support the use of AI in core development. There is also interest in the Lean Ethereum roadmap, however, stakers note the need for clearer technical requirements.
