# Josh Stark Departs Ethereum Foundation

Ethereum developer Josh Stark announced he is stepping away from the Ethereum Foundation, with his work concluding at the end of April. His departure comes just one day after Ethereum developer Trent Van Epps also revealed he left the organization. Stark joined the Ethereum Foundation in 2019, starting on the Special Projects team. During his time, he helped ship Ethereum's biggest protocol upgrades and organizational changes, and co-led the Trillion Dollar Security (1TS) initiative. Stark emphasized that meaningful progress is never guaranteed, but that extraordinary problems demand extraordinary effort.
