The update targets the dead time between when a private transaction is submitted and when its zero-knowledge proof is finalized onchain. Private payments on Privacy Boost require a ZK proof that validates the transaction to be generated, submitted, and finalized before funds can move again. That settlement delay forced developers to design around pending balances, disabled buttons, and delayed payouts. With preconfirmation, an application can trigger the next action as soon as a transfer is preconfirmed, while settlement continues in the background. Security and finality are unchanged, and every transaction still settles fully onchain. Preconfirmation only removes the waiting period from the user experience, allowing private flows to behave like normal app flows without exposing a settlement boundary between actions. Privacy Boost is a plug-and-play SDK from OP Labs that adds confidentiality to any OP Stack chain by combining zero-knowledge proofs with trusted execution environments. Preconfirmation support is now live. Disclaimer: Content is for informational and educational purposes only and does not constitute financial, investment, legal, or other professional advice.
