Morpho Launches Midnight

Morpho launched Midnight, its protocol for fixed rate and fixed term lending markets, now live on Base. Morpho also released a new Markets App for direct lending and borrowing on the Midnight protocol. An initial market is now live on Base for USDC loans backed by cbBTC collateral. Midnight provides a predictable term structure with control over rate, risk, maturity, and compliance, enabling long-duration and bespoke positioning for institutions. Fintechs can now offer fixed rate credit products for their users., while lenders and borrowers get a locked rate for the life of the loan.

Aztec Activates Alpha V5 Upgrade

Aztec Network activated its Alpha V5 upgrade, cutting private-transaction proving times by more than 2x and reducing average block production time from 14 to 6 seconds. Proving a private token transfer on a consumer laptop now takes approximately 2.5 seconds, down from 5.2 seconds on the prior version, while browser-based proving fell from 12.5 to 6.8 seconds. Alpha V5 additionally resolves critical vulnerabilities identified in Alpha V4, following a bug bounty on Cantina that drew more than 234 security researchers. Alongside the upgrade, Aztec is rolling out its first wave of applications, including Nyx, which offers private transfers and private Aave yield governed by a user's Ethereum wallet.

Agora Token Weight Coordination Tool

Agora Governance head of engineering Jeff McLarty introduced holders.vote, a token-weighted Reddit-style discussion platform. Each community anchors to a single ENS, WEI, GWEI, or HNS name, with voting power drawn from onchain holdings such as native token balances, an ERC-20 token, or an ERC-721 collection. The platform supports Ethereum mainnet,. Optimism, and Base networks. Posts and comments are scored under three weight modes computed simultaneously: one vote per person, weight by token balance, or weight by delegated voting power for tokens supporting IVotes. The platform aims to serve governance coordination as the immediate use case.
