Aztec Network, a privacy-focused Layer 2 built on Ethereum, proposed launching its Alpha Network, a functionally complete upgrade to enable private, programmable smart contract transactions. If approved, the upgrade would move Aztec to Stage 2 decentralization, meaning the system is fully controlled by immutable code rather than a central operator. Since the Aztec Ignition launch, the network has introduced a dual state model that combines client-side private execution with public execution on the Aztec Virtual Machine (AVM). It has also upgraded its proving system to CHONK, enabling fast zero-knowledge proof generation on consumer devices. Following governance, Alpha could go live as soon as 24 days after the initial deployment.
ENS introduced ENSIP-25, a standard that provides a clear and deterministic way to verify that an AI agent is associated with a specific ENS domain. The standard works by defining a new ENS text record format that links an ENS name to an AI agent registered in an onchain registry, such as ERC-8004. To complete verification, the ENS name owner sets the standardized text record, creating a bidirectional link between the ENS name and the agent’s registry entry. The solution allows wallets, explorers, and applications to verify the association with a resolver lookup and, once confirmed, display verified ENS names for AI agents instead of hexadecimal wallet addresses.
Kraken Financial received approval for a Federal Reserve master account, granting it direct access to the U.S. payments system, including Fedwire. The approval makes Kraken the first digital asset bank to gain entry to the system, enabling it to settle payments directly with the Federal Reserve without relying on intermediary banks. The direct fiat connectivity improves speed, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness for its institutional clients, while improving liquidity flows between crypto and traditional financial rails. The rollout will occur in phases, beginning with institutional support and expanding over time. Kraken said the approval follows more than five years of sustained regulatory engagement and examination.

Vitalik Buterin called for Ethereum to focus on building sanctuary technologies, which are open-source tools that help people communicate, organize, and manage resources in ways that are resistant to surveillance, In a world facing growing challenges such as government and corporate overreach, war, toxic social media dynamics, and AI risks, he believes Ethereum cannot “fix the world,” nor should it attempt to remake society on the blockchain. Just as Ethereum has succeeded in open finance, it can expand its role within a broader ecosystem by providing shared, ownerless digital infrastructure. The goal is resilience: doubling down on Ethereum’s mission to support genuine, decentralized tools that create stable digital sanctuaries.
The Aave Chan Initiative (ACI), a core development contributor and service provider to Aave, announced that it will not renew its engagement with the Aave DAO and will wind down operations over the next four months. Over the past three years, ACI played a role in the protocol’s growth, helping drive 48% of total revenue, deploying $101 million in incentives, and expanding GHO’s market cap from $35 million to $527 million. The announcement follows the decision by BGD Labs to exit the Aave DAO. Other service providers will carry on contributions. Over the weekend, Aave governance passed the Aave Will Win proposal from Aave Labs, which included a $51 million funding request. Amid the news, the AAVE token fell 11%, trading at $108 at the time of writing.
Chainlink partnered with ADI Chain, an L2 built on ZKsync’s Elastic Network, to accelerate stablecoin and tokenization initiatives across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. Chainlink will serve as the oracle and cross-chain infrastructure provider for ADI Chain, integrating its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) to enable secure asset transfers for ADI Chain. Chainlink will support the UAE’s dirham-backed stablecoin (DDSC), developed by First Abu Dhabi Bank and IHC. ADI Chain aims to serve as a compliance-ready platform designed for institutional and real-world asset-regulated digital infrastructure, with the goal of onboarding 1 billion users onchain.

U.S. District Court Judge Katherine Polk Failla dismissed a class-action lawsuit against Uniswap Labs over scam tokens listed on its web interface. The plaintiffs had sought to hold Uniswap liable for losses from listed scam tokens linked to rug pulls by unknown third-party issuers. Judge Failla ruled that platform developers cannot be held responsible for fraud committed by third parties simply because their platform enabled the transactions. The outcome marks a victory for developers of decentralized protocols, affirming that they are not automatically liable for third-party misconduct.
The Aave DAO approved “Aave Will Win,” a framework proposal from Aave Labs aimed at better aligning the Aave ecosystem with the AAVE token and scaling the protocol. The contentious proposal passed its temperature check vote with 52.58% in favor and 42% against. The proposal includes four core components. It will direct 100% of revenue from Aave-branded products to the Aave DAO treasury. In the proposal, Aave Labs is seeking roughly $51 million in funding. Marc Zeller of the Aave Chan Initiative responded to the outcome, arguing that votes from Aave Labs-affiliated addresses influenced the result. Kulechov said the proposal will now be refined with structural improvements before advancing to the ARFC stage of governance.
Lido completed the phased rollout of Lido V3, a significant upgrade that shifts the protocol from a pooled staking model to a modular, decentralized Ethereum staking infrastructure. The Phase 3 release enables permissionless stETH minting for all stVaults and higher per-operator minting limits. stVaults are non-custodial, customizable smart contracts that let stakers configure their own validator setups. The vaults enable overcollateralized stETH minting and include collateral caps and an escape hatch, allowing operators to opt out of protocol governance. All stVaults are unified by stETH as a shared liquidity layer.
