Deutsche Bundesbank Deploys ZKsync Prividium
Germany's central bank tests a Prividium, a self-hosted, ZK-secured permissioned chain.

The Deutsche Bundesbank, Germany's national central bank, deployed a ZKsync Prividium, an L2 anchored to Ethereum and secured by zero-knowledge proofs, on testnet using its own self-hosted infrastructure. The deployment comes as Matter Labs, the parent company of ZKsync, announced that it is open-sourcing the core permissioning engine that governs roles and access control for the enterprise distributed ledger technology network.
Prividium allows financial institutions to run permissioned chains from public code while keeping smart contracts and token data strictly inside their internal environments. The deployment targets institutional compliance requirements mandating that organizations inspect, run, and modify the core technologies they operate without relying on external vendor dependencies. Matter Labs is collaborating with Bundesbank on developing Prividium's architecture to help regulated entities to deploy verifiable onchain systems.
