Building ETH Daily Security 🛡️

The ETH Daily Security initiative needs $2,175 in community support to qualify for TheDAO Fund's mid-November vote.

The attack vector in crypto hacks has shifted from smart contract bugs to operational security. The largest crypto hacks, including Binance, Bybit, and Ronin, are primarily opsec and key-signing-process failures rather than smart-contract logic bugs. These hacks involved a compromised device or interface, rather than a contract loophole such as TheDAO hack. The three largest hacks succeeded by compromising the people, processes, or software that control private keys and transaction approvals.

Ethereum has tools that help users at the opsec layer, such as revoking risky token approvals, checking transaction signatures, and spotting address-poisoning attempts. Many users still have to find these tools on their own without clear guidance on best practices. ETH Daily is raising funds to make those tools easier to discover and use.

Support ETH Daily Security by helping the initiative reach the $2,175 threshold for qualification in TheDAO Fund's mid-November vote.

ETH Daily Security Hub 🛡️

Our initiative, ETH Daily Security: Getting Ethereum Users to the Tools That Protect Them, would build a public hub of Ethereum security tools and practical guides, with unique links to measure when users take security actions. The proposed work includes a hub listing Ethereum security tools and guides for staying safe onchain.

We believe the best place to improve user security is at the wallet layer, where users interact with Ethereum. We set a target of 200 distinct wallets completing a security action. The hub will initially focus on tools like transaction simulations, token revocations, address poisoning detection, and multi-sig wallets. The goal is to help users understand operational security, transaction pre-checks, and intent verification.

We Need Your Support!

The initiative needs at least $2,175, or 25% of its $8,700 goal, to qualify for TheDAO Security Fund's mid-November vote. If this milestone is not met, the initiative will not be funded. If the milestone is reached, the initiative will be eligible for consideration by TheDAO Fund badge holders, who will vote on which initiatives to fund.

If you'd like to support us, please contribute to the initiative or share the page with someone who may want to support Ethereum security. Every donation helps!

Open Call To Wallet Teams

We need at least one project to pledge to this initiative for it to get funded. If this work would help you or your users, please DM @ethdaily on X to make a pledge instead of donating. A pledge is a public commitment, and you only pay if the entire funding goal is reached. Since the goal of this initiative is 200 wallet actions, we can work togETHer to make some of those actions take place on your wallet!
