Gnosis Chain Integrates Fast Confirm Rule

Fast confirmations reduce Ethereum-to-Gnosis deposit processing from roughly 13 minutes to about 12 seconds.

Happy Thursday, October 8, 2026.

Derive V3 is live on Ethereum mainnet. Glamsterdam is scheduled for Hoodi activation. And Gnosis Chain has integrated Ethereum’s Fast Confirmation Rule to speed deposits.

Gnosis Chain Integrates FCR

Gnosis Chain integrated Ethereum’s Fast Confirmation Rule (FCR) into its xDAI Bridge and OmniBridge, making them the first to activate FCR in production. Ethereum-to-Gnosis deposits can now be processed after a block is fast-confirmed in about one slot, or 12 seconds, rather than waiting roughly 13 minutes for finality. Transfers from Gnosis Chain to Ethereum still wait for Gnosis Chain finality, typically about five minutes.

FCR exposes fast-confirmed Ethereum blocks through the existing safe block tag, without changes to bridge smart contracts. Its guarantee depends on network synchrony and at least 75% of stake being honest and participating. During network instability or Ethereum hardforks, Gnosis bridges fall back to waiting for finality. Confirmations are visible on the FCR monitor.

The integration comes after the first Ethereum Economic Zone (EEZ) atomic transaction was executed on mainnet last week. Gnosis is in the process of becoming an EEZ rollup, which allows an Ethereum contract to call a Gnosis Chain contract and use its return value in the same transaction, without a bridge.

Derive V3 Live On Ethereum

Derive launched V3 of its onchain options and derivatives platform with settlement on Ethereum mainnet, migrating positions and balances from Derive Chain, its former OP Stack L2. The upgrade replaces Derive Chain with a ZK-based exchange architecture. The core protocol was rewritten in Rust, with margin, pricing, and settlement computed offchain and proved to Ethereum contracts.

Ethereum contracts hold collateral, verify proofs, and process withdrawals. Order matching remains offchain at sub-millisecond latency. Derive V3 also supports no-code vaults, ETH and BTC can be used to offset risk for eligible portfolios, and users can borrow in ETH, WBTC, and HYPE alongside USDC. The new architecture adds native account permissions.

Glamsterdam On Hoodi October 26

Ethereum core developers scheduled the Glamsterdam upgrade to activate on the Hoodi testnet on Monday, October 26, 2026 at 17:42 UTC. Client releases will be out by October 16, 2026 to give node operators on the testnet roughly 10 days to update their clients. Hoodi will mark the third testnet to undergo the upgrade.

Developers are anticipating getting the fork shipped before Devcon 8, which takes place from November 3-6, 2026 in Mumbai India. If the fork proceeds smoothly, Glamsterdam could activate on mainnet as soon as December 2nd. Core developers also moved 6 EIPs to Considered For Inclusion and 3 EIPs to Denied For Inclusion for Hegota, the upgrade after Glamsterdam.
