Post Quantum Ethereum North Star

The Ethereum Foundation Protocol Team published its second monthly all-Protocol sync, offering a glimpse into the status of Ethereum upgrades. The EF Protocol cluster, consisting of roughly 60 researchers and engineers, is working on planning the Hegotá (H*) upgrade, including ranking a tier list of the 62 EIPs proposed for inclusion, along with an explicit exclusion list. The team built a "steelman" tier list of contested EIPs, marked with a chili pepper scale from one to three peppers, where three represents the highest degree of disagreement.

The team has named post-quantum Ethereum as a north star, to be pursued in parallel with fork work rather than sacrificed while shipping forks. Every fork scoping decision is weighed, not just by the value and integration risk, but also by the opportunity cost of what it crowds out in the forks that follow. Looking back at scoping for Glamsterdam, the next upgrade slated for Q4 2026, the team noted that progress struggled when EIP descriptions undersold the complexity behind implementation.

Credifi Loans Based On Ethos Score

Credifi launched undercollateralized micro-loans on Base, allowing users with an Ethos Network credibility score of 1800 or above to borrow up to $3,000 in USDC with no collateral, no KYC, and no liquidation risk. Ethos Network is an onchain reputation protocol that builds public credibility scores for wallets and users based on peer reviews, vouching, and linked X accounts. Are you on Ethos? An Ethos score of 1800+ serves as the underwriting threshold, the equivalent of a creditworthiness check, but sourced entirely from onchain reputation rather than traditional financial data. Borrow costs are currently ~10% APR. If a loan defaults, the borrower's Ethos reputation score is impacted, rather than triggering a liquidation. Lending infrastructure runs through a private Euler vault.

Ethena Extends USDe Backing To Equities

Ethena is extending its delta-neutral strategy, where it holds spot, sells the perpetual, and collects the funding premium longs pay, to now include equity perpetuals as backing for its USDe stablecoin. Ethena noted that interest in crypto perpetuals compressed sharply after the October 10, 2025 flash crash, though funding has recently started recovering. Crypto basis went from a low of 1% of USDe's backing and back up to 13% as sentiment improved this month.

Meanwhile, onchain RWAs are accelerating, and equity perpetuals are the newest expression of that trend. Equity perpetuals now carry $6.2 billion of open interest, up roughly 10x since March. Ethena noted similarities between equities onchain. Going forward, Ethena's growth will be tied more closely to basis on equities markets rather than crypto alone. Ethena holds over $4.5 billion in TVL across deployments.
