Trezor Supports Clear Signing
Trezor rolls out clear signing support for decoding contract data into human-readable information.
Trezor now supports clear signing on its hardware wallets for transactions across Ethereum and EVM-compatible networks. Built on the ERC-7730 standard, clear signing decodes raw smart contract calldata into human-readable information Users can veirfy transaction intents, tokens, transfer amounts, and destination addresses directly on hardware screens.
Clear signing works natively across Trezor Suite, WalletConnect, and Trezor Connect for the Trezor Safe 7, Safe 5, Safe 3, and Model T, while unverified contracts fall back to standard blind-signing warnings. The implementation is part of the Ethereum Foundation's Clear Signing Working Group registry under the Trillion Dollar Security Initiative, which includes industry participants such as Ledger, MetaMask, WalletConnect, and Fireblocks.
The initiative pairs ERC-7730 schemas with ERC-8176 auditor attestations via EAS and ERC-8213 cryptographic fingerprints, allowing protocols to publish verified contract descriptors without redeploying code. Initial coverage includes protocols such as Aave, Lido, 1inch, Tether, LiFi, and Hyperliquid.
