Aave upgraded its savings GHO product to a new ERC-4626-compliant vault. The savings yield now accrues directly in the share-to-asset conversion rate with no weekly Merkl claims, no lockup period, and no rehypothecation of deposited funds. sGHO is a yield-bearing token that accrues interest over time.

The upgrade also brings GhoRouter, a stateless routing contract that enables USDC-to-sGHO conversions in a single transaction. ERC-4626 allows DeFi protocols to build on top of any vault without needing custom integrations. Legacy stkGHO holders must migrate manually, as rewards on the old contract will be reduced over a seven-week transition schedule. sGHO positions are viewable through Aave Pro.

ETHGlobal announced the Continuity Track, a new hackathon format that lets builders hack with existing code. The change brings two new participation paths alongside the classic from-scratch track: teams can extend an open-source repo they already maintain or ship a new feature to a private product, releasing whatever they build over the weekend as open source.

The hack timeline remains the same, with a 36-hour clock and teams of up to five, but the empty-repo rule is no longer the only option. For the first time in eight years, builders can arrive with existing code. The new Continuity Track is debuting at ETHGlobal New York from June 12-14th, featuring $200k+ in prizes. Applications for ETHGlobal New York close on June 8.

Aave has integrated Chainlink Smart Value Recapture (SVR) into its V4 Ethereum Core market. Chainlink SVR is a specialized oracle solution that enables DeFi protocols to reclaim non-toxic Maximal Extractable Value (MEV) generated through Chainlink Price Feeds. The integration allows Aave to recapture liquidation-related MEV that was previously extracted by block builders.

Developed in collaboration with BGD Labs, Flashbots, and other Aave DAO contributors, Chainlink SVR leverages Chainlink Price Feeds and Flashbots' MEV-Share to redirect value back to DeFi protocols. Chainlink SVR on Aave V3 has already generated $11 million for the Aave DAO treasury since March 2025. Aave has separately restored WETH market parameters across V3 deployments affected by the rsETH incident.
